My Story
I was my warrior mother's first and smallest baby. She and my father raised me in Hamilton, Ontario with my two younger brothers and our revolving door of animal companions. We had dogs, cats, gerbils, hamsters, snakes, lizards, frogs - I even had a pet moth at one point until he met his untimely demise when my bedroom shelf collapsed. My siblings and I grew up in the 90's which was obviously the best time to grow up: before the shattering intrusiveness of social media but after microwaves became popular household appliances. We dealt with our fair share of family challenges but we were smothered with love and acceptance. I was always encouraged to write and create as a child. It was key to finding out who I was meant to be.

My husband first asked me out when I was fifteen years old and I told him no. You see, my Dad had one daughter, and he kindly (and maybe a little desperately) asked me to wait until I was at least sixteen to start dating. So my husband waited nine months and then took me out for my sixteenth birthday - I still have the heart necklace to prove it.

Fast forward sixteen years. We live in the Niagara Region of Ontario with our daughter, our dog and our turtle. I squeeze in time to write between being a mother, a Registered Midwife and a snack food enthusiast. I know I am in my thirties because I have a bird feeder that I watch from my dining room window and my back is quite sore.

I made this website because I thought it was time that I share my passion for creative words. Catching babies and telling stories are my most treasured talents. I can't wait to share and connect with you.
